2017 ranking of non-life insurers

According to the data issued by the association of insurers of Senegal (AAS), Axa Assurances ranked in 2017, first in the local market in terms of premiums with 14.769 billion FCFA (24.712 million USD).

It is followed by Allianz Assurances (13.138 billion FCFA, 21.983 million USD), Prévoyance Assurances (10.388 billion FCFA, 17.381 million USD), NSIA Sénégal Assurances (9.023 billion FCFA, 15.097 million USD)and Saham Assurance (8.810 billion FCFA, 14.741 million USD).

CNART comes in the sixth position with premiums of 7.223 billion FCFA (12.085 million USD) followed by ASKIA (6.908 billion FCFA, 11.558 million USD), SONAM (6.541 billion FCFA, 10.94 million USD), AMSA (5.408 billion FCFA, 9.048 million USD) and SUNU (5.012 billion FCFA, 8.39 million USD).

The Compagnie Nationale d’Assurance Agricole du Sénégal (CNAAS), the Providence et la Mutuelle d’Assurance Agricole du Sénégal (MAAS) closed the ranking with underwritings of 1.137 billion FCFA (1.90 million USD), 692.8 million FCFA (1.159 million USD) and 129.4 million FCFA, 216.515 USD)respectively.

Note that the Senegalese insurance market includes, as of December 31, 2017, 19 insurance companies against 18 in 2016.
