86% of life insurance premiums generated by five insurers

According to the annual report of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority, 86% of the life and capitalization premiums generated during the 2016-2017 financial year are controlled by five insurers.

According to the same source, these top five insurance companies recorded cumulative life premiums of 8.8 billion EGP (486 million USD) in a total market of 10.2 billion EGP (564 million USD).

Misr Insurance ranks first among local insurers with 3.3 billion EGP (182 million USD) in premiums and a market share of 32.3%.
