87% of South Africa’s population would not have a life insurance policy

According to the results of a survey conducted between June and August 2005, 87% of South Africa's adult population does not have any form of life cover and 91% of people do not have short-term insurance cover. The main reason behind such poor record relates to the low level of financial resources.
