AIG, ranked non-systemic

American Insurance Company (AIG) is no longer regarded as a systemic insurer, a decision taken by the Financial Stability Oversight Commission (FSOC), an institution attached to the American Treasury.

According to FSOC, AIG’s bankruptcy shall no longer stand as a threat for the country’s monetary stability. The American insurer will consequently benefit from an ease in regulatory burden.
