Authorities keen to impose a compulsory insurance for ships crossing the Bosphorus

The Turkish authorities intend to impose a compulsory insurance on all ships crossing the Bosphore. 500 accidents have been reported in this area during the last 50 years. Since the Bosphore is deemed to be international waters, there is much doubt that the Turkish project will materialize.
