Aviva, growing fraudulent claims

Aviva detected 85 million GBP (104 million USD) in fraudulent claims in 2016, up by 9.5% in comparison with 2015. Nearly 60% of these claims pertain to bodily injury. The company is currently investigating more than 16 000 suspicious applications for bodily injury compensations.

Property and third party liability classes of business are also among the targets of fraudsters. Nearly 1000 third party liability files are currently subjected to inquiry. The British insurer has waged war on this scourge which has considerably affected its profits.
