BP allocates an additional 7.7 billion USD for Deepwater Horizon

BP's intermediate operating accounts were posted in early November. The British firm has set aside an additional 7.7 billion USD to face the oil spill triggered by the catastrophe that followed the loss of the Deepwater Horizon platform in April 2010.

The total provision for this claim has, therefore, reached 40 billion USD while the expenses amounted to 11.6 billion USD. This provision has not prevented BP from reporting a profit of 1.78 billion USD in the third quarter.
