Brexit, wave of uncertainty in the insurance sector

The withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union was quick to make the European insurance sector react.

If the situation has raised a wave of uncertainty among insurers operating exclusively with Great Britain, it is with great caution that some companies have expressed their views on the matter.

The insurers Allianz, Axa and Aviva have shown some vigilance but they consider that Brexit will have no significant impact on their operations.

If prudence is required everywhere, other insurers have been more forward. After reaffirming its commitment to the European market, Hiscox Europe will soon move its headquarters from London to another European country.

With a similar approach, XL Catlin, reinsurer based in Ireland has also decided to move its head office to Bermuda.
