CAAT, 2016 results

Taking the floor in a seminar held on 12 April 2017 in Bordj Bou Arreridj (Algeria), Youcef Benmicia, chairman of the Compagnie Algérienne des Assurances Transport (CAAT), presented the 2016 results of the company.

CAAT’s turnover amounted to 22 billion DZD (199.9 million USD), 5% more in comparison with the 21 billion DZD (197 million USD) reported in 2015.

Initially set up to manage marine risks, CAAT has managed to diversify its activities, thus becoming the first insurer of corporate risks of which it underwrote 57% of market premiums.

The portfolio comprises 36% of motor risks which totalled 70% of the compensations disbursed in 2016.
