California makes autonomous cars test easier

Authorities in California are now allowing testing of autonomous cars without the presence of a natural person on board. The new regulation will come into force on April 2, 2018. California is not the first state which no longer required the presence of a passenger in an autonomous vehicle. Michigan, Nevada and Arizona have already taken the plunge.

Since 2014, the date of the first tests of driverless cars, 57 accidents have been recorded. Half of the incidents have been reported during the last twelve months.
