CAR and Decennial Liability insurance new law in Morocco

A new law aimed at controlling and prosecuting fraud in urban affairs has been promulgated in Morocco. This regulation, also called Law 66-12, has been designed to ensure compliance of Law 59-13 that is hardly enforced and which introduced a compulsory insurance scheme for contractors all risks and decennial liability.

In Morocco, underwriting both policies has become mandatory for three-storey dwellings (ground floor + 3 additional floors) or having a covered area exceeding 800 m2.

The law also applies to buildings for industrial or commercial use of more than 400m2 in covered area.
