English police is preparing a squad to combat insurance fraud

IFED (Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department) is a new police unit. Made up of 34 independent investigators, this unit will be entrusted with the task of combating fraud in the insurance sector. Its funding has been provided by member companies in the Association of British Insurers (ABI). IFED is based in London at the headquarters of the police department of economic criminality. Motor insurance alone accounts for 1 billion GBP (1.5 billion USD) of fraud nationwide, according to insurers. This squad will also scrutinize fraudulent offers of illegal advisors. Any individual or corporate will, among other tasks, be able to report any suspicious case in an anonymous fashion, especially via internet.
