General Electric's insurance business slowing down

The US conglomerate General Electric (GE) has recorded an exceptional charge of 6.2 billion USD on its insurance business.

The losses that weigh on the results of the fourth quarter 2017 of its life entity "North American Life and Health",will nontheless, have no impact on the industrial activity of the group and on its rating, said Standard and Poor's. The latter already lowered, in December 2017, the rating of GE to "A".

A split of the company into several independent entities could improve the profitability of the group, estimate the analysts.
