Generali parts way with its Belgian subsidiary

Generali announced, on April 18, 2018, the sale of its Belgian subsidiary Generali Belgium to Athora Holding, a Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance group.
The transaction, amounting to 540 million EUR (668.18 million USD), is part of a recovery plan initiated by the Italian insurer since 2016.

To date, Generali has sold more than 1.1 billion EUR (1.36 billion USD) of non-core assets, an amount that is more than the original target of generating a total of 1 billion EUR (1.24 billion USD).
