Henri de Castries will leave AXA before the end of his term

Henri de Castries, Chairman and CEO of AXA for 17 years, is leaving the group. Despite the renewal of his directorship in April 2014 for a four-year term, Mr. de Castries is stepping down earlier than expected. His departure is scheduled for September 1, 2016.

As of that date, the positions of non-executive chairman of the board and that of CEO will be separated.
The first position will be attributed to Denis Duverne, currently administrator and deputy general manager of AXA while the second will be entrusted to Thomas Buberl, general manager of both AXA Life Germany and the life division.

The dissociation of the two functions was passed unanimously by the board of directors on March 19, 2016.
