Hurricanes Harvey and Irma cause heavy damage in the United States

Hurricane Harvey , which struck the southeastern United States at the end of August 2017 and Irma that has lashed Florida since Sunday, September 10, 2017, are expected to cause 290 billion USD in damage.

This amount advanced by the Accuweather meteorological service represents 1.5% of the United States'GDP. The losses caused by these two events would hamper the US economic growth between mid-August and the end of the current year.
