Insurers refrain from providing "comprehensive" coverage for imported vehicles

According to Arabian Business magazine, Emirati insurance companies are abstaining from providing optional covers for the vehicles that are registered outside the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The same source has also added that 90% of these vehicles do not have “comprehensive” policies, which represents future-lost earnings for local insurers.

The magazine also points out that in the United Arab Emirates, the average premium of a motor insurance contract amounts to 3 000 AED (816 USD). This amount varies according to the model of the vehicle, its country of registration, its age but also that of the driver and his/her driving experience.
