Health insurance, two mega-mergers blocked

The American justice has just given its verdict. Mega-mergers between the health insurance giants are blocked. The federal judge is opposed to the mergers announced in the summer of 2015. The first transaction should seal the merger of Anthem and Cigna for 50 billion USD while the second is worth 33 billion USD to unify Aetna with Humana.

Justice believes that such operations would eliminate the small players in an already highly concentrated market and increase health insurance tariffs.
