Market cleanup

The Kenyan authorities have put 22 companies in a black list, mainly motor expertise and claims companies. In breach of the insurance code, these companies have no license to practice in the market.

They are, therefore, required to give up all their activities by January 2015. The number of companies in breach of the code has been steadily on the rise over the recent years: one in 2012, five in 2013 and 22 in 2014. Motor insurance is the hardest hit by fraud in Kenya.
