Michael Schumacher’s accident

The sponsors’ insurers of M. Schumacher and those in charge of his personal accident insurance are in a position to act after former car race champion fell victim to that accident. They could even step up if they can prove the liability of a third party. Sponsors’ insurers would then point out to the potential losses incurred by them for the forced termination of the contract binding them to Schumacher: lower sales due to interruption of advertising etc. Investigations have so far been conclusive about the sole responsibility of the driver.

Personally and apart from the issue of third party liability, the stars have always had an insurance plan called “death and disgrace” insurance policy which covers against death, total or partial disability and events altering their image. Contributions for this type of guarantee are based on contracts, age, fame and personality of the insured.
