Microinsurance among Sunu Group’s objectives

The Sunu Group is being represented in 11 African countries. At the end of 2015, it finalized the merger of Ivorian insurance companies UA-Vie and LMAI-Vie bringing them under its brand. Now named SUNU Assurance Vie Côte d’Ivoire, the new entity has become the first life insurer of the CIMA zone. In Côte d’Ivoire, its life market share amounts to 35% while its turnover reached 38.76 billion FCFA (71.8 million USD) in 2014.

Having been among the first insurers to innovate in terms of bancassurance, the company is now intent on taking advantage of its partnership with operator Orange in order to   develop microinsurance. Mobile phones make it possible to reach out to dispersed populations in the country and effectively collect premiums.
