Microinsurance for the have-nots

The American microinsurance center for Central Europe, Eastern Europe and CIS (Community of Independent States) has joined the International Fund for Agricultural Development in order to propose microinsurance products like fire, accident, health and death. Comprised between 0.2 USD and 4 USD, these products are designed to the most disadvantaged populations and fall within the micro insurance category.

Out of the eleven insurers solicited to cooperate with this project, only two of them have responded favorably. The Kotayk region will be the first to benefit from this pilot experience which is likely to be extended to other regions.
