No trial for the rating agencies in the subprime affair

Standard & Poor's, Moody's and Morgan Stanley have avoided a trial after signing an amicable agreement with the regulatory authorities. This procedure terminates two lawsuits lodged before the financial crisis of 2007.

King County of Washington State and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank also dropped charges for concealment of subprime related risks. These friendly settlements, whose terms have not been disclosed, come just days before the opening date of the first trial.
