Personal line insurance is displaying signs of weakness

The Conseil National des Assurances (CNA) has unveiled its closing forecasts regarding the year 2011. The overall market turnover is estimated at 86.3 billion DZD (1.14 billion USD), which represents a 7% increase over one year. The personal line insurance, which includes life, health and travel assistance, is decreasing by 1.5%. This decline is accounted for by the restructuring of this activity. Non-life insurance has grown by 8% as regards fire and miscellaneous accident underwritings. Motor insurance is growing by 7% accounting for 54% of the total market turnover.
