Qatari Insurers more committed to road crash prevention

The 2018-2022 national action plan for road safety has been unveiled. The new measures have been crafted around three main areas: awareness-raising and training, infrastructure development and countering infractions.

Teaching road safety in schools, limiting by age the vehicles in circulation, countering serious offences such as driving without a license, the installation of road data recorders on some types of vehicles (trucks), improvement of sidewalks and pedestrian passage ways are among the programs proposed.

Another important measure consists of an action plan which provides for the involvement of insurance companies in research and awareness-raising programs on road safety.
