Reinsurers are making the toll of their exposure to recent natural disasters in Asia and Samoa

With poor insurance penetration rate in most of the countries seriously hit by recent catastrophes (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Samoa), reinsurers will be relatively spared. Local insurers will retain a substantial share of the claims. Hannover Re estimated its losses at, approximately, 7.5 million USD for all the events.
