Reshuffle at UAP’s top management

UAP Holdings’ board of directors has announced the retirement of James Muguiyi, the group’s CEO. Dominic Kiarie, his first assistant, will take over. J. Muguiyi has been on duty for UAP for 30 years, holding various executive positions.
It was under his leadership that the company has grown significantly in Kenya, then set foot later on new markets in Uganda (2004), Southern Sudan (2005), Rwanda and DRC in 2012. He is the architect of the group's restructuring which has become an important multi-class player.
UAP has diversified into financial services and has invested in real estate. J. Muguiyi will remain in the board of directors of UAP without executive power. He will also continue to be a member of the group’s subsidiaries’ boards.
