SCOR unveils its 2016 results

Data published on 22 February 2017 by SCOR showed a net profit for 2016 of 603 million EUR (635.4 million USD), down by 6.4% compared to 642 million EUR(701.5 million USD) achieved in 2015.

Nevertheless, the fifth world reinsurer achieved a 5.3% growth in its overall turnover amounting to 13 826 million EUR (14 568 million USD).

The life class of business of SCOR Global Life pulled results with an 8.3% growth at 8 187 million EUR(8 626 million USD). As for the non life entity "SCOR Global P & C", it posted a moderate growth (+ 1.2% at constant exchange rates), which corresponds to 5 639 million EUR (5 942 million USD) in premiums.

The net non life combined ratio decreased by two points going from 91.1% in 2015 to 93.1% in 2016. Shareholders' equity amounted to 6 695 million EUR (7 054 million USD), with an increase of 5.2% in comparison with 2015. The dividend per share increased from 1.5 EUR (1.6 USD)in 2015 to 1.65 EUR (1.74 USD) in 2016.
