Special Women, Afifa Boughzou, general manager of CARTE Vie

Having obtained her general certificate of education, mathematics section, A. Boughzou decided to pursue her studies at the Tunis school of management (ISG) where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 1984.

After graduation, she had a short stay in an IT company before joining Hayett , on 1 March 1987, the first life company set up in Tunisia. There she was duly acquainted to the life class of business by investing particularly in training and the moderation of the distribution network.
After several years spent in Hayett, she decided to quit the company for Tunis Re where she spent few months.

It was only in February 1994, that is to say 10 years after completing her studies, that Afifa Boughzou joined CARTE, which at the time was underwriting life and non-life risks. She was tasked with various duties including the position of central manager in charge of life and bancassurance risks. Upon the establishment of CARTE Vie in November 2010, she became quite naturally general manager of the new entity specialized in life insurance.

Thanks to the support obtained from her shareholders, A. Boughzou decided to embark on this new project where she needed to start from scratch: the structuring of company, portfolio growth, ... She therefore tapped into the full measure of her potential, focusing much of her efforts on the development of bancassurance.

Convinced of the complementarity existing between insurance and financial institutions, she made CARTE a privileged partner of the Tunisian postal service and one of the first local companies to distribute insurance products through banks.
