The agricultural mutual insurance celebrates its 100th anniversary

The farming mutual company celebrates its hundredth anniversary. Under its current scheme, the Caisse Nationale de Mutualité Agricole (CNMA), whose task is to protect property and persons in rural communities as well as farming-related activities, stems from the reunification in 1972 of three institutions: the Caisse Centrale de Réassurance des Mutuelles Agricoles (CCRMA), the Caisse Centrale des Mutuelles Sociales Agricoles (CCMSA), and the Caisse Mutuelle Agricole de Retraite (CMAR). CNMA has seen the number of its affiliates grow from 35,000 in 1999 to 147,000 in 2006.
