The «bonus malus» system extended to commercial vehicles

Within the framework of the motor insurance reform initiated in 2000, the authorities have established a claim bonus system which is no longer applied only to tourism vehicles but also to utilitarian vehicles as well.

The new system comes as a supplement to the indemnification procedure of bodily injuries implemented in 2006. This move is aimed at achieving a gradual reduction of the motor business deficit which amounted to 42.6 million TND (31.2 million USD) in 2004.
