The coverage rate of life insurance is very low

Despite ten years of existence, life insurance managed to cover only 6 million people, that is, 7% of the entire population. The share of life insurance contracts accounts only for 1.25% of GDP. The objective of the five companies operating on the market is to reach 10% of the population at the horizon of 2010 and to raise the share of premiums to 3.25% of GDP. In 2005, three new insurers have seen the light: French Prévoir and the American New York Life and ACE Life.
