The damages caused by revolution are estimated at 700 million USD

The chairman of the general insurance committee, Abdelatif Chaabane, said that the damages caused during the Tunisian revolution have amounted to 700 million USD. The contribution of insurers would be limited to just 25% of this amount. The transitional government had previously estimated the economic losses at about 2.5 billion USD. It is worth noting that in a press release of January 24 the Tunisian federation of insurance companies believes that the recent events fall within the framework of riots and civil commotion insurance.
