The new law on insurers' capitalization is in force

Kenyan insurance companies had to comply with the new legislation regarding minimum share capital by mid June 2010. From 100 million KES (1.3 million USD), the companies' minimum paid up non-life capital rose to 450 million KES (5.8 million USD) while that of life companies climbed from 50 million KES (0.6 million USD) to 150 million KES (1.9 million USD).
