The new regulation on health insurance aims to cover all employees of the private sector by 2017

Saudi private companies are now obliged to insure their employees as well as their families, and this regardless of the number of spouses and dependent children of each insured.

The age limit of the coverage, which was previously set at 60 years, is now removed.
Saudi women working in the private sector can also benefit from this coverage and ensure their families, provided that their spouses are retired, unemployed or working for the public sector.

The implementation of this new system extends over several months.
Companies of more than 100 employees are required to enforce this law before the end of July 2016, while those employing less than 25 people will have until April 2017 to adopt the new system.
