Towards the development of Congolese insurance market

The Ministry of finance and the association of insurance companies’ professionals of the Republic of Congo (Apsaco) held in late February 2018 a workshop on the regulation of the insurance sector.

The meeting was an opportunity for the adoption of several resolutions such as tighter control over the implementation of compulsory insurance, the intensification of awareness-raising campaigns on insurance fraud.

The improvement of the benefits of the pink card, CEMAC, was among the topics addressed during this meeting. The pink card is indeed designed to compensate cross-border motor claims occurring within member States of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC).
