Towards the introduction of new compulsory insurance covers in Egypt

Abdel Raouf Kotb, president of the Insurance Federation of Egypt, has deplored the low number of compulsory guarantees in the country:"Egypt has the smallest number of compulsory insurance lines worldwide noting that many Arab countries have between 10 to 50 compulsory insurance contracts covering many aspects of life."

A draft bill introducing new mandatory covers has been submitted to the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority. Homeowner's insurance and health third party liability are among the classes of business targeted by this draft.
