US insurers are worried about the generalization of autonomous cars

The generalization of autonomous cars will upset the insurance industry, a finding that has already been sensed in the United States with the launch of the "Insure MyTesla" program by US automaker Tesla. The insurance of an autonomous car will now be included in the purchase price of the vehicle, which will be future-lost earnings for traditional insurers.

Three local insurers, namely; Cincinnati Financial, Mercury General and Travelers have already expressed concern about the future of the insurance market, information found in an article published on the Business Insider website.

The same source predicts that the expansion of self-driving cars will trigger the reduction in the size of the US motor insurance market by 60% by 2040.
