Veteran Brian Duperreault, new CEO of AIG

Brian Dupperreault was appointed on May 15, 2017, CEO of the American International Group (AIG). He took over from Peter Hancock, who announced his departure in March 2017. This new appointment, commended by shareholders Carl Icahn and John Paulson, should not fundamentally alter the strategy initiated by the previous management team . The new CEO, a specialist in restructuring, assured that he would not "break the company in two" but "make it grow".

Aged 70, B. Dupperreault worked for more than 20 years at AIG. Once approached to lead the group, he left it in 1994. He then took the reins of ACE (Chubb currently), which he transformed into a major player of the sector, then broker Marsh & McLennan also threatened to split by its shareholders. Brian Dupperreault came out of retirement in 2013 to establish a new insurance group called "Hamilton Insurance Group".
