Agreement between the firefighters and the insurance commission

Ghana’s national insurance commission and firefighters have come into partnership. Under the terms of the agreement, the firefighters will enforce the insurance obligation imposed on landlords and tenants of residential and commercial real estate. This agreement will, at first, be implemented in Accra before extending it to other major cities. Compulsory insurance covers fire, earthquake, storm, flood and collapse risks.
