Airtel Afrique in partnership with MicroEnsure

The telephone operator Airtel Afrique has entered into a partnership agreement with MicroEnsure for distributing microinsurance products in Africa. This alliance allows the operator to expand its range of services providing access to insurance at reduced rates. Airtel Africa is operating in twenty countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, where only 5% of potential policyholders are insured. Between 2010 and 2012, microinsurance has increased by 200% in Africa.
