The Algerian insurance market’s total turnover, across all lines of business, reached 200.456 billion DZD (1.5 billion USD) at the end of December 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 8.8%.
Non-life premiums grew by 8.9% to 165.803 billion DZD (1.3 billion USD), accounting for 82.7% of the market.
Life and health insurance premiums amounted to 21.988 billion DZD (168.7 million USD), up 3.5% over the past twelve months. These segments represented 11% of the overall portfolio in 2025.
Takaful contributions rose sharply to 1.447 billion DZD (11.1 million USD), marking an 84.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
International reinsurance acceptances reached 11.218 billion DZD (86.1 million USD), reflecting a year-on-year growth of 11.9%.
These preliminary figures were released by the National Insurance Council (CNA).
