Allianz reports 8.6 billion USD of profit in 2019

Allianz Group, Europe's largest insurer, recorded a premium volume of 142.4 billion EUR (154.3 billion USD) in 2019 against 132.3 billion EUR (151.3 billion USD) in 2018, an increase of 7.6%. The net profit amounted to 7.9 billion EUR (8.6 billion USD) in 2019, up 6.1% compared to 2018.

The group's P&C business generated a turnover of 59.2 billion EUR (66.3 billion USD) and a combined ratio of 95.5%. The German insurer posted an excellent return on equity (RoE) of 13.6%, the best of the last ten years.
