A.M. Best believes in the potential of African insurance

The rating agency A.M. Best is publishing a study on the insurance business in Africa. Entitled "diversified insurance markets in Africa: growth opportunities and untapped demand", this issue examines the potential of insurers and reinsurers as well as the economic activity of 54 African countries. Dominating markets, South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya are thoroughly analyzed. A.M. Best has referred to the excessive number of players in some markets, pinpointing the weaknesses that African insurers are required to face: uncertainty of financial markets, political risks, competitive environment, etc.
