The bill on compulsory public infrastructure insurance is to be submitted to Parliament

The bill making mandatory the insurance covering sensitive public infrastructures will be soon submitted to the Parliament. The tragedy of May 9, 2001 was at the origin of this initiative: The municipal stadium of Accra was then the scene of the most brutal events in the history of African soccer (128 fans died in a riot). Because of a lack of adequate coverage, victims' families could not receive compensation.
