Cameroonian insurers turn digital

Cameroonian insurance companies have decided to digitize insurance contracts through the e-insurance platform. Policyholders will soon be able to underwrite their insurance policies online and benefit from a swift settlement of their claims.

This initiative has been encouraged by the renewed interest of the Cameroonians in Internet and online payment methods.

At a time when the insurance penetration rate in Cameroon is very low, more than 5 million Cameroonians used the Internet in 2016. The insurance market hopes to take advantage of this boom in digital to boost the market activity which remains inaccessible to rural populations.
