Climate change in 2022: impacts, adaptation and vulnerability

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published a new report entitled "Climate Change 2022: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability".

The study examines the future effects of global warming and the risks involved. It presents several options to strengthen the resilience of nature and society to climate change.

Insurers and reinsurers believe that climate adaptation is essential to ensure climate resilience. In this report, adaptation is defined as the process of adjusting to the climate and its effects in order to mitigate damage.

Several measures are advocated including adaptation of critical infrastructure to increase resilience to climate change, adaptation and implementation of building and land-use planning.
