Creation of a training center for the sector's professionals

The different Botswana’s insurance companies have joined together to create a common training center named "Insurance Institute of Botswana" (IIB).

This structure aims at developing the professional skills of the sector. The IIB is waiting for the approval of the regulatory authorities.

According to Dziki Nganunu, IIB chairman, the institute should help promote the technical knowledge nationwide and accelerate the growth of local industry, currently dominated by foreign companies.

As a reminder, the Botswana market totalled 147.9 million USD of premiums during the 2012/2013 period.
