Death of André Bayala, general manager of SONAR IARD and chairman of SONAR Vie

Following a short illness, André Bayala, general manager of the Société Nationale d’Assurances et de Réassurances (SONAR IARD) and chairman of SONAR Vie passed away on March 11, 2015.

Being known and appreciated personality of the market, André Bayala was born on 12/31/1950 in Reo-Bonyolo, a village located about 122 km from Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso).

After academic studies in Togo and France, A. Bayala joined Burkina Faso where he held several positions of responsibility. In 1994 he was raised to the head of the SONAR as general manager.

Major figure in the West African Insurance, André Bayala also chaired on two occasions (2002-2008), the Fédération des Sociétés d’Assurances de droit National Africaines (FANAF).
