Drastic drop in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency values

Over the week from 8 to 14 May 2022, several cryptocurrencies have seen a sharp drop in value compared to the US dollar. On Thursday, 12 May, CoinMarketCap, a website specialized in digital currencies, estimates the losses at 200 billion USD.

On the same date, bitcoin dropped 78.62% from the beginning of the week to its lowest level ever recorded, namely 26.641 USD. Other crypto-currencies show a similar downtrend: Ethereum (-72%), Tether (-95%), BNB (-63%), Luna (-100%), etc.
